The Kuwaiti Embassy in Washington D.C. is no longer providing authentication services. All documents requiring legalization must now be sent to the Kuwaiti consulate in NY. However, most documents requiring legalization will still need to first obtain U.S. Department of State Authentication and a green seal from the National United States Arab Chamber of Commerce in Washington D.C.
The New York Consulate for Kuwait advised us of the following prerequisites before they will legalize a document for use in Kuwait:
- U.S. federal documents (except those issued by USPTO) including documents issued by the IRS require U.S. Department of State Authentication.
- U.S. Patent and Trademark Office documents require U.S. Department of State Authentication and the seal of the National United State Arab Chamber of Commerce.
- All other documents presented for legalization require Secretary of State Authentication, U.S. Department of State Authentication and the seal of the National United State Arab Chamber of Commerce.
Please reach out to your COGENCY GLOBAL service specialist for assistance in managing the legalization process for documents that will be used in Kuwait.
