Why Do You Need a US Agent for Service for FAA Documents?

A US agent for service is a designated entity or individual with an address in the US responsible for receiving and forwarding official FAA documents and notices on behalf of the certificate holder to ensure compliance with this new regulation.

This regulation applies to those holding or applying for FAA certificates, ratings or authorizations under specific sections of the 14 CFR regulations, including pilots, aircraft owners and aviation businesses that do not have a US physical address on file with the FAA.
