Maine Secretary of State Issues Warning about Corporate Records Service Scam

Misleading Compliance SolicitationA misleading solicitation from a company called Corporate Records Service, is currently circulating to corporate and nonprofit entities in Maine. The solicitation asks recipient companies to file information and send payment in the amount of $125.00 by a certain date in order to complete corporate meeting minutes on behalf of the corporation.

Please note: This is NOT required by the Secretary of State.  While annual reports are required to be filed with the Secretary of State’s office on or before June 1st each year, Maine corporations are not required to file corporate minutes with the Secretary of State's office.
